Should i Purchase a magnaflow cat back EXHAUST

I was wondering if anyone has a magnaflow cat back exhaust and recommends it because one of my friends has a deal that many people cant say no to.

So here what am offered it a Magnaflow Sti cat back hi-flow exhaust kit and a speed 3 cat back hi-flowexhaust kit for only 800 shiping included and it through pay pal

CBE is a waste of money on this car. I say buy something that will make it faster. You get nothing but sound from a cbe, until you are heavily modded.

hEY everyone thanks for your input i have decide to get the magnaflow because in a couple of weeks i be getting a down pipe and tuneing my car as well so in the long run it should improve my hp

And on the side note the magnaflow does not sound like a ricer because today i meet up with someone with a speed 3 that has a magnaflow and it sounded sexy as hell and it has a more deeper tone then a ricer which has a higher tone

dude, get a cbe if you want. while there will be no gains. im all for sound if it sounds good.

have you tried cutting out the two resonators before the muffler and seeing if you are satisfied with the sound?

mine are out and it sounds great. but when i get a DP, thats when im going to buy a CBE.

im going to buy the Apexi N1 dual canister exhaust and have it custom fabbed for my DP back exhaust. one cat on the DP going straight to the Apexi N1 Dual

I have not try cutting the two resonators but it ok I just bought the CBE and it coming in 3 days and also i think that the Apexi N1 dual canister exhaust is a very sexy exhaust and good choice as well and it sounds nices as well

if you were just looking for sound. you should have tried cutting out the resonators first. it sounds awersome with out them.

probably would have saved you a few hundred. thats if you were only looking for sound

the piping in the new muffler will have an impact in performance , just becuase you still have a cat doesnt mean you wont get some added power , thats like saying if you change your spark plugs or air filter you wont get some kind of gains becuase its the same engine !

Wrong. While my car was on the dyno at AMS they did a little test. They did a basline run wih my car at 18psi. Then they dropped the entire CBE off and dynoed again. The resulys were as close to identicle as it gets, no gain at all. If you want sound, go to any local muffler shop and have then cut out the resonators from the stock CBE. Thats what i have done. It cost me $65 and sounds amazing. Better than most CBE systems i thinks. I also have no cats now, but even when it was just the modded CBE and a race pipe it sounded good. Until you reach big powerlevels the stock 2.5" mandrel bent sysyem is more than enough. Hell i hope to put down close to 400 hp soon with my stock stuff.

how is getting a CBE ricer? you literally just called most car enthusiast ricer, and i guarantee you most of them would put you to shame

doing CBE is personal preference for sound, later down the road it might show a little bit of help but wither its worth the 400 + dollars for maybe a 2hp gain is something you have to decide.

get what you want but shop some prices first. To me it sounds like your "friend" is hosing you with that price. As a few people have already said they could, and have, gotten the same thing for HALF of what your "friend" offered it to you for.

if you don't like the sound, can you weld the resonators back in?

can you describe what it sounds like without the resonators, at idle, at soft-medium acceleration, at WOT, and cruising on the freeway?

You can weld them in again but that would be a waste of money....twice.

The sound...... It sounds like a car wih a free flowing exhaust ! Take the sound you have now, then imagine it louder !

Resonators habe nothing to do with emissions. They are only there to reduce noise and .......well resonance ! If you still have 1 cat in place you are emissions legal.
