shorty antenna??????

Ok, I'm not sure if I posted in the right place or not so if not I'm sorry. I own an mp3 and am looking to relocate the antenna from above the front of the driver side door to the rear of the roof.
I'm also interested in purchasing the shorty antenna but I don't know what kind of base I should purchase to install or where to start looking. Any info would be great as I'm pretty clueless right now and really want to do this mod.

Get the Protege5 base and I can make you an antenna. The base will cost you $40 shipped anywhere in the US or Canada and you can get the antennas here:

The only thing you have to get done is having a body shop shave the old mount and drill a hole for the new mount. Then just extend the wire from the old location to the new one. I hope this helps and I'm really looking forward to seeing a couple of sedans make this change. I think it will look killer.

like he said, use the MP5 base.. get one from a junkyard or dealership..

I can get them for $40 straight from the dealer. You might be able to find one in a junkyard but I haven't had much luck finding wrecked Protege5's.

you guys are awesome, cld dealer and they can get in 2 days now 1 more ?, will I need any sort of amplifier for the new antenna since it will be considerably smaller than the one I'm removing?

Getting an antenna amplifier depends on which antenna you get. If you get the shorty one that I make you will probably lose a little reception without an amplifier, but the medium and long antennas shouldn't cause any problem.
