Short Shifter(yes I know once again)

Ok....before you guys start telling me to search once again, I already have! I just want to know flat out, which ss is better. I have heard some minor complaints about kartboys ss, some about twms and some from b&m. I want to buy a short shifter asap and I was leaning towards kartboy until a couple of members were not pleased...which one actually has the best reduced throw percent and which one is the best...thats all I want to know...which is the best of the best

there is no flat out... I like my kartboy, but someone else might prefer a B&M, but most people seem to go kartboy, shipping was quick, no complaints, and i got 2 free dum-dums and some stickers with it... can't complain about free lollie pops, bet B&M doesnt give you that!! ;)

I guess it's just preference. I think I remember seeing somewhere that the TWM or B&M (don't remember which) have the shortest throw.

I have never heard a complaint about Kartboy SS coming from a P5 owner. I know I have seen MP3 owners saying that the Kartboy throw is longer than their stock. - What are some complaints you've heard?

BTW - I have no problems with my setup.

I have the Kartboy Shifter/bushings and I couldn't be happier with them.

I have had the B&M installed for over 40K miles and have no complaints whatsoever.

I have the kartboy ss, bushing and knob.. and I'm VERY pleased
with the setup. So like everyone else is saying its preference.

If you want a really short lever, get a Kartboy. It's very low. I love it :D

Edit: they sell their own knob with it, but I like how the stock one looks/feels/integrates with the ES/P5 interior

yup....thats the SS for me..I like that look...and with all the positive feedback...now I jst hafta order it

Just remember that the shorter the throw, the more resistance you will feel since you are giving up leverage. When I first installed the Kartboy I thought it was too stiff. Now it feels just right. I'd be afraid to go any shorter.

Quality wise I think the B&M is the best. I doesn't have the shortest throw but workmanship is sooo nice. They all use the same aluminum alloy but B&M uses an integrated ball and socket so it installs as a whole unit whereas the others use the stock bushings. Somebody please post a picture to help explain this. One thing that is for sure stay the hell away from the pace setters

This is the main reason I chose the B&M. Not to mention it has a lifetime warranty. I figured why get a shifter that uses the stock plastic bushings when they are one of the weakest links of the whole setup.

the kartboy is not much diff then teh stock
True for the MP3, not for the P5.

I believe he has a P5. But anyway, just so he doesn't get confused. And yes, the B&M is shorter than the KB.

BM has shorter throw, it is not shorter in height. kartboy is about 2 inches shorter than a stock p5 shifter, BM is like 1 inch or so.

Actually, TWM's have the shortest throw followed by the B&M and then the kartboy. But the twm's are about 40 bucks more than the B&M, and the B&M is another 40 bucks over the Kartboy....so, how much you wanna spend is the real question.
Cheers,
Moose
