Short Shifter Installation Question

For those of you that installed a Kartboy short shifter, if you can help me with installation:

* On the installation instruction I found, they indicate that I should "pop" the new short shifter in during installation. Where does it "pop" into and how much effort is required to "pop"?

* I didn't pay close enough attention when I was taking the shifter apart, so can someone tell me if the retaining ring goes inside or outside the upper plastic ring? Also, where does the black rubber ring go?

Sorry for newbie questions but your help would be greatly appreciated.

For starters, there are two plastic rings. One goes on the bottom of the shifter pivot, the metal ball at the bottom of the shifter, and one goes above it. The little boot goes on the bottom of the shifter under the plastic retainer ring. The snap ring goes on top of the top plastic retainer. Get the whole thing assembled minus the snap ring, place it in the shifter seal housing, and then press down on the shifter while installing the snap ring. The snap ring is a little tricky so becareful to get it seated right.

the BLACK RUBBER RING you are refering to is an O-ring...it goes in a groove at the top of the housing above where the top white plastic bushing is...and BELOW the snap ring.....
