Short Shift

Anyone install a short shift on their P5? Wanted to get an idea of what's available. I've seen some postings regarding removing the extension, but haven't seen any regarding an actual short shift kit. I apologize if this has been asked and I just missed it.

same here i to have only seen posts about removing the extension but not an actual short shifter if they are available list where and how much...... and is it a good buy????

if you go to the www.mazdamp3.com they have alot of posts about it. Pretty much b&m makes a short shift for our cars and you can ask some of the guys there if they are good. from what i can remember reading they said the throws are about 30% or something like that shorter, but dont mark my words. just check it out there.

b&m just came out with a shirt throw shift kit that will shirten the throw by 2 inches. the part number is 45071. around $150. enjoy

Anyone know how similar it is to the stock shifter in the MX-6/Probe? I was hoping to pull the shifter out of my MX-6 before I sell it and move it over to the P5 so I don't have to buy another one.

also just another quick question how do you take of the extension on the shifter??? i cant figure it out that or i am just trying to be to gentle and dont want to mess anything up on my ride.........!!!

Justin,

I shot you an email with the removal procedure attached. I found this information on this BB, but thought it may be easier to send it then have you search. Hope it helps. Sounds a bit time consuming.
