Protege MP3 #321
I just got my AEM short ram and i was wondering if it was hard to install it by myself or should i have some one doit for 50 bucks

do it yourself, man! It is so easy, my wife, with no car repair experience, didit herself. I just stood there and handed her tools. Get a 10 mm socket and a screwdriver. Remove the 20 lbs of plastic crap of the factory intake. Install the new intake.

She wanted to get experience working ont he car, this was easy. Takes 15 minutes. Will look like this when done:

I have been thinking about putting an intake in but I am not sure which one will fit. COuld someone give me any help! :)

anything thats rated for a 2.0L engine mostly. the 1.8 is a little smaller in engine size. so i they might fit im not sure, but stick with the 2.0L. just get a cheap one off of ebay and put on a good filter. the filter that comes with teh ebay one really suck. its really simple. just take out the stock intake box, pipes. put on the rubber pieces to connect each piping to. put clamps on the rubber pieces tighten them. and then put on the filter and maf box( i think thats wat its called) the black box in teh picture above, between the 2 intake piping. and put on the filter. its that simple. most the time it can be done with a screw driver.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is there a noticable difference on the MP3 with a cold air intake and does it change the way the car sounds?

Your should hear some nice sounds coming from the engine after 3500rpm.
Yes, you'll notice the sound for sure unless you never sihft over 3000rpm
