Hi, guys I got a generic sri intake from eBay and it brought two small aluminum brackets which helped to hold the intake but it broke recently(lasted a year). Because of the setup I feel it shakes too much and from time to time the screws get a bit loose. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find them??

I have looked here in other threads but either people use what came with the intake or no bracket at all.

Thanks.

Perfect! this is why I like this Site. I had no idea where to look for a "aluminum bar as bracket" or how to name it. Also took a look at your thread and the way you mounted it looks great I will attempt to do that once I go to the local home depot and see if they have this zinc bar.

I also, had not given thought to the whole battery mounting vs mounting off engine and the vibrations. I mounted it off the same spot where you had it and had the same problem with it being too close to coolant hose and with the bracket breaking eventually. Coincidentally, my mp5 is also yellow and has the chrome stock rims you had, same intake I believe but using a spectre 25$ filter; the blue one begun giving problems after 6 months.

Thanks.

In case anyone has the same issue, I fabricated an "L" bar using those same components and held the intake up at the MAF screw with the battery tray. It gave problems after 6 months because most of these intakes dont properly clear the metal part of the brake booster and causes a hole in the aluminum after so much rubbing

I mounted my bracket to the MAF and a bolt for the turbine speed sensor on top of the transmission. This way the filter moves with the motor and doesn't fight statically mounted stuff on the body. Have never had issues. Yes, the brake master cylinder area needs attention to give it as much clearance as possible.
