Shifting points?

I Know there's been a lot of talk about launching the MS6, and how since it is an AWD you cant dump it....

On a drag, and with a stock set up, what are the shifting points one should change gears in, to get the best boost per shift?

i was told that after 5000 rpm we loose boost...

i have some bolt-ons (ei: BOV, DP, CAI, Motor mount, sprint booster...)

does this change the shift points? and if so when should i be shifting?

I know your all gonna tell me to get a boost controller, but until then....?

Thanks guyz~

Do you have any datalogging or dyno info on your car? If so, I would look at your curves and that would tell me where to shift, otherwise just above 5000 is where I shift if I'm getting on it.

No ive been meaning to go do a dyno but its pretty pricey....

do you do 5000 on each each gear or does it varry?

thanks again

Right now if I get on it, I take it to 5100 then shift. Usually for daily driving I shift about 2500 or less.

really 2500 or LESS? ive been way off hahaha i shift at like 4, 4.5 lol

If I'm not in a hurry and in the city, I'll shift it nice and smooth. 2500 is just enough to get going and not grandma it from a light. 4 or 4500 is pretty peppy taking off lol. I can't imagine your gas mileage being all that great.

What? You can dump that clutch. It is a front drive with a small transfer to the rear. The front wheels will spin and then hook up the rears. I think you were stretching a touch over 5100 RPM's two weeks ago on Fort Street Mr. Steve. LMAO! ;-)... Motor Mount in route and looking at hitting the submit order button on that Turboxs BPV. Turbo timer and a dash hawk I will be done...

I'd be ordering the Forge and saving some money personally. Also, the turbo timer is nice, but since the turbo is oil and water cooled, a good 30 secs after hard driving is all it really needs.

As for Fort St. I was up around 5200 when I shifted. You don't wanna dump the clutch on the MS6, you start getting funny smells.

I like those funny smells! LOL... I like the sound of your BPV but dont know if I could live with it forever. Maybe I will buy both and see which one I like and then sell the other. OR, you could let me borrow yours and see if I like it. LMAO! I want blacked out MS6 wheels for my car!

Jesus Snooky..your a MOD and you cant even post in the correct forum. :moved:

Holy s***! and I moved it to the three forum. (lol2)

I have gotten max performance at 5100-5500 RPM. Anything above that is just noise and slowing down. And if it is dry it really isn't good to dump the clutch on this car!!! The mounts are weak and the clutch is prone to a good smoking and it will smell really bad for a long time. Or worst case you will blow it! However in the rain or on wet roads turn off the VSC and dump it! You will get the hardest launch you have ever felt in your life! I think that this car is actually faster in the wet than the dry! I love it!! But after my first clutch smoking I don't dump it in dry weather anymore.....

So hey what kind of MPG are you getting in yours driving like a granny? LOL I drive 75-80mph on my 17 mile commute to work with limited in town stuff. And I am averaging about 21 MPG with this nasty 91octane Cali piss water. I am gonna run about a half tank of 100octane from 76 one day just to see what it can do. But at over $6 a gallon I ain't gonna do it more than one time.....

I get around 26 not really hitting boost much.
