Service Reminder?

Does the CX-9 have a service reminder? If it does I can't find it, in the vehicle or the manual. We just bought a 2010 and I wanted to set it to remind me to change the oil at 1500miles.

My 2011 Mazdaspeed3 (also just bought) has a really easy to set reminder for oil (service) and tire rotation, but I can't find something similar in the CX-9.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

No service reminder on CX9.
My suggestion: Do oil change at 5,000 intervals. You will never miss it.

Why do you change oil at 1500 miles?

AFAIK,
The old wisdom of changing 1st oil at 1000 miles no longer applies.
Nowadays, cylinder walls are well-machined and coated with special materials.
Much less initial metal debris come off the cylinder walls and other contact surfaces.

Lets just say I don't fully trust the crack assembly team at Mazda to catch everything. :) If I could be bothered, I would change it at 100 miles, 500 miles, 1500 miles, and then 5000 like I did on bikes, but even I can admit that's probably overkill. 1500 miles will give me a little piece of mind. I'll probably change it again at 5000 and then go every 5000 after that.

It's still kind of bizarre a car this nice doesn't have something as basic as a service reminder...my 2004 Jeep had one. Any idea on why they would leave something that simple out?
