If any of ya'll have gotten the new Motor Trend this month and have gone through the "archive" of new vehicals in the back. You will notice they talk about our beloved little speed3.

but...

in the Tech. specs it says the 2.3L turbo I-4 is good for 250-263hp. Could the 09 Speed3 be losing a few horse power? or are they just getting data from somewhere new... (scratch)

BTW...
SL-65 AMG Black Series = (idhitit)
I sugest getting the Desktop pictures off autoblog.com

Yeah and according to motortend the RX8 and MS3 have the same 0-60 times. I think that mag is full of s*** personally.

Never really liked motortrend myself, I have no idea how they get any of their numbers but they always seem so far off other places.

I was talking to my friend who sold me my MS3 and has worked with Mazda for over 10 years while the regional rep was there with the 09 Mazda 6 (Which is very, very nice) and he said the group was informed that Mazda hasn't officially said yes or no to an 09 Speed.

The regional rep told him that they will likely "rumored heavily" produce an RX8 Speed and perhaps have some leftover 08.5 MS3's through Q1 of next year.

That's all I know to add to the rumor mill.

2009 MS3 = rumors and speculation

Motor Trend has always been heavily biased towards American/muscle cars...hence I can't read it.

I never understood the complete bias of various publications and individuals. Fast is fast, no 2 ways about it. There is also plenty of room for various niches among fast.

i bought a couple of mags while i was away for the weekend. i read thru car and driver, and couldnt stand reading it anymore. like you were saying about motor trend except backwards... C/D appears to have a boner for japanese and european cars.

then i picked up an issue of automobile, and man was the difference obvious. they seemed a lot more level headed and not corrupt by advertising dollars, tho even in that you can find some bias if you look. still tho, head and heels above the other auto mags i've read lately. think i found my new subscription (and hey, for $12, why not)

i think i smell a poll spawning from this thread...

AutoWeek is by far the best, least biased, of all the car mags. It also comes weekly, which I love.

I also get C&D, but mostly because they have the best drivers out there. If you want to know what car can do, the C&D test is the one to read.

i'd add autoweek to the poll, but i dont think you can edit the poll after it's been created.

AutoWeek and Automobile are both more neutral, though lately Automobile seems to be obsessed with hyper-exotics and BMWs.

Couldn't disagree more. I attended their anniversary gala at Indianapolis Raceway Park a few years ago and was stunned by how badly their writers/editors handled the vehicles in EVERY venue. There was a not a single performance test being performed at the event were the C&D people were not outperformed handily by attendees.

After many years of subscription I let mine expire over both the noted bias towards imports and the shockingly bad performance of their people.
