Damn it, didn't make it. Couldn't start my car, so it's at the dealership getting work done to it. Sorry CorkSport. :(

That sucks. yomissed a hell of a show. In the slolum(sp?) everybody had no ******* clue what they were doing. The only guy's that made itr right were 20 years older than everyone else. It too the winner 2 runs to get like 12.17s or somthing like that. then one of the 323 guys decided to do a run at the last min and on his first and only run he did like 12.30sec coming in second place.

There was some kick ass rotorys there an FD with a twin turbo 13B, a turbo RX-8 (this guy had alot of fun drifting around the 100' slolum course) and a sweeeeeet 82 RX-7 race car. The sweetest I have ever seen. Of course the corcksport cars kicked ass.

all in all it was ******* awsome. Sorry I just had to rub it in.lol

It's cool. I just wish I coulda been there. I don't think i would have been a great competitor at the mazda olympics, I just wanted the fun factor of actually participating. :( Oh well, there's next year, right?

You would have done fine. The only one that really required a lot of skill was the flag grab, and the Miata's tore it up. The other events were mainly about reaction and timing. No specific model car had any advantage.

I didn't think that RX-8 was boosted tho.... (shrug)

The convertables had it too easy. Larry would have waisted that miata if he had a second go at the slolum(sp?) (larry is the guy with the maroon 323 that got 2nd.)

YOu're right about the RX-8 I must have been tripp'n when I said it was turbo. It was ******* fast though.

The RX-8 was all motor... And FD's come with twin "sequential" turbo. ;)

It's pretty unfair for you to say no one knew what they were doing. Those events would take a few times through to get a feel for them and know what your car is going to do in that specific terrain. Everyone's times would have drastically improved with a little more practice.

After everyone left we reset up the courses (autocross and whoa/go). Randall, the guy with the RX-8, gave me a few tips on autocrossing (he's a seasoned autocrosses/road racer) which allowed me to drop seconds off my time.

I couldn't get him on the modified whoa and go though. We changed the stopping space to maybe half of what it was during the BBQ event.... Good times. Time to rotate my tires now I think.

Big thanks to everyone who came out. Hope you all had a good time because we sure did.

Should have some more pics soon but here are my favorite.

When I said that I was talking about all the people that consistantly went around the wrong side of the cones. It mostly was the older guys that got it down. hell larry got 2nd with only one run. way better than most people did on thier first. And that was his first auto-x expiriance.

Lol. Well just look at the front of my P5 and notice I don't even have the turbo yet. I'm the only one in that pic without a turbo.
I had to leave some drool in your engine compartment on Saturday.
