Seatbelt trim & Dealer doubts

Well, today, when I was leaving to go to school, as I buckled my seatbelt in, the 2 trim pieces around the buckle broke in half and fell off! It looks like C-3PO without his metal on (from the first Star Wars)... Kinda sucks

So, I call Five Star, my local Mazda dealer, and they tell me that they can't JUST sell me the trim, that they have to sell me the entire female buckle assembly.. As in the whole buckle, all the way down the floor.. As in 70 bucks!! Does anyone know if I'm getting ripped off here? I would think that it would be an item they can sell... Maybe he's just trying to con me into buying the whole thing to make some money..

Here is the piece that broke off..

Any input anyone?

Thanks!

Krazy Glue is your friend.

*edit*
oh yeah, just be careful not to glue your fingers together, it's a b**** when that happens :)

The alternative is to keep the T-1000 terminator look, that would be kinda cool (thumb)

or you could go for that ghetto look and get some duct tape...
awww man! Beat me to it! I usually have got some tape w/ me at the races, if ur still coming down sunday, we can see what we can do about that thing ;)

Epoxy!!!

I've put a lot of car parts back together with epoxy... mostly knobs and stuff. I haven't had anything break on my P5 yet.

Also, your dealer should be able to show you their parts catalog... so you could see what they have to order. Perhaps they can only order the part as a whole. My dealer has the catelog on their computer and can even tell you who manufactures the part, the SKU, etc. They probably don't want to show you the price though :)

I just hate stuff like this! I like for the car to be perfect... I know its impossible AND crazy, but I'd just rather get a new part than some rigged one or junkyard one... If I have to though, I'm sure I'll survive.. =)

The male clips on one side broke off into the female clips on the other side (ouch!) so I guess I'll try the yards first, then epoxy it... Thanks everyone for their responses... And for the snickers at my nerdiness =)
