Seat position, whats yours?

I can't seem to get the right angles and distances and heights where I like them with this car for some reason...I don't know exactly what it is. I raise it, feels too high, then I lower it, feels like I'm on an incline all the time. If I put the backrest further up, I feel like I'm cheating my legs of support. If I recline the backrest, it feels like I'm reaching over the console to get at the shifter.

If I slide the seat too far up, I feel like my ankles are getting sore from bending too much. If I slide it a little further, I feel like I have to reach too much with my hands....Its like I need a shifter height and angle adjustment! I've never felt like this with any other car. I really don't know whats wrong with my brain!

What do board-goers here have as their seat setup? I usually try to roll with the seat about halfway back on the tracks, the height almost down to the floor, and the backrest a few degrees reclined (although I keep fighting with sliding up and lower the backrest more, then reversing, then back again!)

seat slammed to the floor
the angle 90 degrees
i sit close to the wheel so i know my clutch pedal hits the floor no matter what.

Seat all the way down. Roll seat back and forth until my left foot is flat on the dead pedal and knee just supported by the seat bottom. Steering wheel all the way down and maybe an inch back. Incline seat back until my arms are almost straight at the top of the wheel. Then adjust mirrors until I just barely don't see the sides of the car. Start car and drive away quickly :) .

Seat all the way back, all the way to the floor and declined all the way down, I roll like a gangstah.

But seriously, all the way back, all the way down and probably 90 degrees "decline." I have issues with my back.

- Seat raised 1 or 2 clicks.
- Seat is almost 90 degrees.
- Wrist rests on top of the steering wheel with arm slightly bent and shoulders against the seat with the top of the steering wheel slightly lower than my shoulders.
- Knee slightly bent with clutch pressed to the floor.

Many of my friends drive automatics and say I sit close to the wheel, but it's the only way I feel comfortable and in control.

Maybe try posting your height, too? I have the same problem as the OP, but I'm only 5'4. How tall are the rest of you that have the seat all the way on the bottom?

The optimal driving position is with the seat upright, your knee slightly bent on the dead pedal, and your elbows with a slight bend and your arms slack with your wrists on the 10 and 2 positions. This will ensure you have maximum control of the steering wheel from lock to lock in quick transitions.

Where you have the seat in relation to the rails depends on your height, your inseam, and your torso length. Since we're all different shapes and sizes, this position could be all over the map.

everyone puts the seat all the way down?? Mine is in like the middle...and I'm 5'11-6'. I do tend to really slouch in the seat though

My seat bottom is all the way down and I'm around your height, but I have a long torso and sit upright.

I'm 5'9" and I have the seat nearly all the way down, and I have the steering wheel slammed right down and the seat reclined enough to give my calves and oversized buttocks enough support. Like I said I haven't had this positioning issue in any other car for some reason.

I just in my parents corolla, all I have to do is slide it forward or back depending on who was driving it last, and angle it back a bit and I'm good to go. In my buddie's 300zx I'm basically good no matter where the seat is. In this car I'm constantly fiddling! I think it might be because there are large gaps between the rail locks on the seat travel...always feels like I should be somewhere inbetween.

If I sit upright like Kain I feel like I'm hanging off the seat.

Like has been mentioned, you might want to mess with the position of the steering wheel. I have mine all the way up and telescoped all the way towards me.

I'm pretty finicky about finding a comfortable position since I have a bad back from sports injuries, and I've had no problems with the MS3. The big test for me is when I visit family 8 hours away. If I can make it without my back seizing up, then I found the right car.

i'm 6'4" and i actually prefer mine forward about 2-3" and all the way down...

this is a great car for taller drivers, in my opinion... one of the reasons i bought this car....

my wheel is telescoped all the way towards me (like kain's) but all the way down (w/o blocking the gauges).

don't try this at home, but... i adjusted the wheel while driving to get the perfect fit.

my seat is all the way back, semi-gangsta and i'm 6'2". agree that this is a great car for tall folk.

Seat looks nice, but in the world,......not so good (I have the GT) to high, not enough lumbar and lumbar is high, slick as snot (i was holding myself with my knees during my long runs) short on lateral support, but at least it is not baseline designed for a fat ass width wise on the seat base
with a belt lock I can fix some of the movement in auto X but the lumbar I need to look into fixing
