Is there anyway we can make the words "search" in like size 7 font and make some huge button on the main page? People are making so many new threads asking the same things over and over again when the answer is in the thread below in the same forum. Any ideas?

it's getting to me, too. i'm not saying to do it like the nasioc crowd, but man, they're pretty batshit crazy ruthless about telling people to search and not start new threads.
I mean I don't mind answering their questions, but I do have to say my last two post weren't the nicest ever. There are a lot of people that jump all over people about it though, I just think theres gotta be a better way to encourage people to search first. Maybe not allowing them to make new threads untill they have 5 post or something? It would also help with spam, although the spam has been reduced greatly already.

i'm with you. i don't mind answering questions, but there comes a point when you see countless "will these +48 17x7.5 wheels fit my car?" threads break you. i've been pretty crotchety lately with some of the s*** i see. honestly, i'd have a ton more posts going nuts over searching, but i type out a lot and then not post it just so i can get it out of my system. my god, i need to step away from the forums.
lol, im with ya too. There has to be about a million other tire and wheel fitment guide threads out there, not to mention other entire sites for that. Its like the "MSP turbo on a P5" thread, I had to delete my post. Im glad I won't have internet access from Friday to Tuesday

If someone had been a dick to me that day.. i might've left.
now.. this was 5 or 6 years ago... and I doubt there are many people around now that don't know how to use forums... but retaining new members is a must. I think that a lot of times they aren't really sure what to search for. Because your car makes a sound.. doesn't mean you know to search for "mp3 clunk"

as annoying as it is, its a necessary evil...like Kat pointed out, not everyone knows how to use a forum or even know the correct terms to search for. So if answering questions over and over annoys you so much, dont answer them and ignore it. Someone else will answer...

Well stated guys...Everyone was a new member at some point so we all know how it feels to join an online community for the first time. It can be a bit confusing at first and any help is always appreciated!
