Sealed Slot-Loaded Subwoofer enclosures?

Well, I don't know...I kinda of relate to reason 4: You are a golden-eared tweak who can detect subtle non-linearities in your sub-bass. :D Thanks for the info! I've known how to run sound equipment for stage and studio applications since I was a kid, but this car sound thing is new to me. I'm a sponge right now though. I'm soaking everything in.

That's cool Chuyler1. I was thinking about going with one of their prebuilt pro boxes and sit it against the back seat. That way it would fire upwards and hit the hatch door and bounce forward. What do you think?

One of the reason mentions that is that the cars envirnment is not like a studio in that the car si going to make the sub sound nonlinear alot more then the driver is actualy going to be non linear.

The simple rull of thumb I fallow is to keep the vent area of the slot above 1/2 the drivers surface area otherwise it becomes a port.

Ok, so then for an 8" woofer using my rough calculations on page 1, I could get away with an opening that was 2.5"x10" or 2"x12". That seems closer to what JL does, but I've only seen pictures.
