seafoam

I've used it once. It made the car run a little smoother, but it's hard to tell. Some members swear by is and run a bottle through at every oil change. I get more noticeable results running acetone with my gas.

I use this every other oil change and it works great. I usually put 1/3 of it in the intake monifold using the master cylinder vacum(while the car is running) then turn off the car and let is sit for 5 min . THan place the 1/2 into the oil and the last of it into the gas tank. after all this is done turn the vehicle and hold the revs at about 4500 to 5500 rpms you will see a cloud of smoke coming out from your exhaust but that is normal. There might be a check engine light too but that is normal it will go away after you drive the car for 10 miles or so... enjoy

You really are supposed to just pour this in with your oil? Am I missing something?

Can you show me a pic of where you get it into the intake manifold using the master cylinder vacuum?

Just pull the PCV valve from the manifold and dip it into the can while the engine is running. It really does smooth the engine out. Very noticable in my case.

You pull the big rubber hose off the brake booster. If you can't find this you really should have someone else do this procedure. Pour the seafoam down the hose very slowly with the engine running. I pour about 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the gas, and run 1/3 through the intake right before an oil change. I take the car out and run the crap out of it for like a half-hour and then change the oil.

interesting. never used this stuff before, but i may give it a try. is it a pure clear liquid substance? or does it have a thicker consistency?

I use it regularly. As rich as our cars run, I use on full bottle through the PCV then half a bottle in the old oil and half in the gas every other oil change. I highly recommend it. I just idle the car with the seafoam 5 minutes before an oil change.

I'll try running it a little longer next time. 5 minutes seems short. I'd just stay away from driving my car with that stuff in it.

yea i run it in the oil before changing for 15-30 minutes at operating temps. I really like to buy cheap oil and a cheap oil filter and change the old then put SF in the cheap oil and run it for the 15-30 min's at operating temps, then drain for a long time then replace with mobile 1 0w-40 full syn and use the K&N oil filter

Wow you take it to another level... You've got one spoiled car. No wonder www.bitog.com got your attention. I wish I had your dedication. :-) pos rep

dam, I tried to give pos rep back'at'cha, but it says I have to spread some around before I can give ya some more...

sure it would. I say every three oil changes is good, but since the MSP runs so pig rich, unless properly tuned I do it every oil change...

will this also benefit my tribute's engine?
if so, how often should i use it?

another reason I like SM is becuase it is O2 sensor safe it is 100% petroleum based...

I do the pcv valve trick, oil flush and one can in the tank...

One can in the tank definately cleaned out my fuel system for me. Ran a full tank down with one can. Car is running a SOLID 5 psi these days.

Be advised that my car sent out MASSIVE smoke during the cleaning when I ran a can through the vac lines. I'd say you need to do this in a parking lot and only in your neighborhood if you have very understanding neighbors.
