Seafoam wowza

Did seafoam last night:

1/3 into brake booster (some white smoke)
1/3 into pressure line in very front if engine with the blue clip (TONS of smoke)

the rough idle is gone, this is what made me start looking at seafoam. The car no longer stutters in 5th gear when stepping on the gas at 3k rpm, backfire is gone during WOT shifts into 4th gear (at least not yet), seems to run smoother. I am not making this stuff up! So impressed for the 7 bucks i paid at carquest.

B&G induction cleaning i did it at 45,000, i think its worth it. plus i think not cleaning is the reason some of us are boomin early

I'm going to video what I do. I'm so scared I'm going to screw it up, and if I do, I want to stop others from doing it...

Did it, but didn't video it... check engine light is on. I'm not freaking out over it.

What I did:
car on
slowly sucked (about) 1/3-1/2 of can into the vaccuum line by the brake booster
car off
took shower
car on
little black smoke (only ran for about 1 min)
car off


Going to take it out for a long drive and see what happens.
Then I'm going to pour the rest of the bottle in the gas tank when I'm low.
It's that or pour the rest in the oil 100 or so miles before the next change... yeah, maybe i'll do that one instead

I do have to say I'm a little concerned right now.

I went to taco bell after the drive, light still on, and next to my burrito making machine was Autozone. I had them run the code and this is what came up.

Now I'm changing my spark plugs either tuesday or wednesday. I'm hoping this will fix the problem. You guys think it could be something else?

Hold up there tiger. The car doesn't like having it's brake booster line ripped up to feed the seafoam. Since you buttoned everything up, it is probably just a residual code. How many miles do you have? I doubt the Seafoam killed your plugs. Try just going through a couple key cycles. If it doesn't go away in a couple days. Then try reseting the ECU and see if it stays wiped. Or borrow a DH/Scangauge and wipe it yourself.

62,000 miles. I unplugged the battery and it went off. I'll keep ya posted.

I thought everyone said that the vac line by the brake was good?

It IS good but, you think engine management failed to notice the huge amount of unmetered air entering the engine? Shy, dude, put your thinking cap on.

hey thinking of using this product i have a 2007 speed w/ 13000 on it just thinking of using 1/3 in the gas tank im not having n e problems w/ the car so i dont feel it needs the other 2/3 going into the vac line or the crank case has n eone just used it in the tank or should i go the whole 9

Fuel tank is pointless on a DI car and fyck the crankcase too, this ain't a Case farm tractor. It needs to get into the combustion chamber and to hit the sludged up intake valves on the way. Vac is the only way to do this. It ain't rocket surgery.

seafoam isn't quite "pointless" for a direct injection. this stuff is supposed to clean carbon deposits...and where there's carbon, there's carbon deposits. poured in the tank it will clean up the injectors and combustion chamber. poured in a vacuum line it will clean up the valves and combustion chamber. poured in the crank case it will free up whatever gunky deposits there are around the oil system to include crankcase, rings, pcv, whatever else is part of the oil system (to do this they recommend changing the oil no more than 30 miles after introducing it to the oil)

i think seafoam is to engines like soap is to a person. since skin is naturally oily (some more than others) dirt tends to just stick and gather. the only thing soap does is break up the tension of oil so it can be rinsed away (in the shower). just plain old soap doesn't really clean, it merely facilitates the shower washing off the dirt that would normally stay on you if you just did a rinse without soap

i personally think seafoam is a good product to use, and im gonna be doing the crank case treatment next oil change.
