I put a 16 oz. can of Sea Foam(motor treatment) in my car along with some 93 octane gasoline and saw no smoke whatsoever!!! Should I be concerned? Do I need to pour some where you pour oil also to get full effect of the Sea Foam?

I also want to clean my engine bay and some of the oily components in there due to weak/leaky valve cover gasket...what is best way to do this? Can do basic things with cars and don't speak much "car" either so be very basic with me!

If you put the seafoam into your gas tank you will not see smoke. You need to put it into the intake system to see the smoke.

For cleaning the engine just get some good degreaser and a brush. Low pressure hose to rinse. Try not to get water into any electrical connections and you will be fine.
