Screeching noise when accelerating (2015 CX-5 2.2L Diesel)

Ok thanks for all your help, I fixed it myself. I don't know the name of the pipe but the ring you tighten was loose, so I basically just tightened it. Not sure what it's called but I assume it was losing power because of it. Funny the guys in the garage that looked at it said around 2k to fix as it's probably the turbo. I'm going to learn more about the car engine and maintaining it myself as this has not given me any confidence in the mechanics I deal with. I'm want to thank this group and those that responded a great resource

Thanks for the update. It’s a vacuum leak and the pipe could be turbo related.

But read my comment in post #2 ⋯

Glad you found a solution yourself 👍.

Looks like the EGR system (Exhaust Gas Remix) and I don't think it comes from Mazda with those band clamps. Maybe it's been "fixed up" before and parts altered .🤷‍♂️

Nice catch! Yes the factory almost will never use this type of worm gear hose clamps. With worm gear hose clamps, the screw may be loosen over time, which may cause the hose to leak.

Those types of clamps are used on the intake hoses, seen both at the air box and turbo inlet. Not sure about EGR though.

You have a 2.5T, and the OP has a 2.2D diesel which @HyFlyer has one. The clamp application could be different between 2 engines.

But again, I rarely see the factory uses worm gear hose clamps because they tend to lose tension and get loose easier.

This wasn't loose it was literally 5 mill of a gap, I have a feeling it was removed at some stage and not put on.
