Scratched

So I got my first deep scratch today. I was pretty upset, but I'm not one to get mad over something like that, however I want to fix it. I have some touch up paint. Will this work? Could I just get a fine brush and fill in the scratch. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I like to fill in scratches and nicks with a toothpick instead of the brush that comes with the touch-up paint bottle. You may also want to clean out the scratch with a Q-tip and alcohol first. I read somewhere that that cleans out any hints of rust that may have formed. But yours probably doesn'thave that since it's a new scratch. Just keep an eye out for it as the paint is pretty thin on the Mazdas. Most of my nicks and scratches just penetrate to the primer, but I was suprised to see two small rust spots from nicks on my hood this weekend.
