Schick Quattro...OMGWTHITS???!!!!

Well, thanks to this thread I went and bought a Mach3 Turbo and some Gillette Mach3 Comfort shaving gel. Shaved the puss this morning and shockingly my face didn't look like hamburger when I was done - just a little bit of bleeding by my adams apple. My face feels smoother compared to using an electric but it doesn't 'look' like a closer shave -- still have a little bit of a shadow in the beard area.

Question for eveyrone -- how many shaves does your razor last? It seems like I'm lucky to get 2 shavings out of a razor cartridge before I have to toss it and use a new one. That sucks.

Geez, you must have some thick ass facial hair if you only get 2 shaves per blade. I read about some trick one time you can do to lengthen the life of a blade. Had something to do with leaving it in a mix of lemon juice and olive oil or something.

When I shave everyday, probably 1-2 weeks.

If you are good with straight razors, or your barber is...daum they are such a close shave! There is an old school barber shop in my home town, the old guy who runs it still does the warm lather and straight razor shave. I haven't tried it yet but my buddy did and said it was awesome.

As to girth and his question on life...I can get maybe 4 shaves out of one cart, but if I do that it gets way dull and chops me up...so 2 to 3 is a safe bet for me.

Thanks for the responses guys....at least I'm not the only one that can't get too many shaves out of a blade. Dammit this s*** is expensive though when you're replacing them all the time. My facial hair really isn't even all that thick too.

werd to that. i dont shave hardly and they only last like 3 shaves for me too. and its like 8-9 bucks for 4.

i also find the first 2 or 3 shave to be great, but you can stretch it some more ... you guys gota learn how to shave lol

i don't shave often, so the hair is usually kinda long when i do (like maybe 2 to 3 times a week max) and the blades last me alot longer than that .. gota take your time i guess ?

my hair is of average thickness I would say, but extremely hard hair. So it is rough on those thin blades. Very expensive for me to shave.

I am starting to wonder if Schick even tested the quattro, or even put thought into its design process. It just seems they slapped 4 blades together and tried to beat the M3. Another thing I don't like about the quattro, is it feels just as heavy as an electric shaver....
