SCCA Solo2 National Tour

We have the national tour coming through next month and I've been convinced to have a go (will probably not be competetive, but I'm looking forward to the experience). My first try at national level competition...

Just wondered if anyone else if planning to run the tour events this year?

If we can swing it I'm shooting for two tours this year... if I can't swing it I'm skipping the tours and just beating down three different regional areas (20+ races) and two or three divisionals (one championship, two championship series).

I am strickly a local guy. I did run the state championship last year. Perhaps I'll run them again this year.

I plan on runng atleast 1 national event this year in Peru, In. I also plan on running atleast 4 Cen-Div events and as much as I can in 3 different regions. Last year I attended 29 races. I think I can beat that this year...

I would love to go to a couple NTs, but my schedule won't allow it. I can't make Nationals either, although I REALLY want to do that...

I will post local races on the boards when they come up. Hopefully some of you Northeast guys will come to them.

Before I commit to any Tour events, I want to get a couple local events under my belt to see how competitive I am in SM2...

Dan

SM2? Wow... good luck there. On one side you have flying miatas from hell and on the flip side you have 800HP C4 vettes with oil drum size tires.

Dan, how do you earn the license to race at the SCCA level where you have other cars on that track at the same time as you? I only do time trials right now.

I'm not road racing at the moment, so I don't have a license... to participate in W2W, you need to attend a school, and earn a license. Check with your local SCCA chapter for more details...

You damn over achiever. You're going to wear those new r compounds down to a stubb.

Yes indeed I am, I already have plans for new 225's by May or June. They should be a memory by then. Check out these results fromt the first race this year in Columbus, In. 2nd fastest fendered car and 2nd on the PAX.

Probably won't happen much more, but I'm shooting for driver of the year in my home region (CKR).

Oh yeah, and I was on street tires...(wedge)

Me too, I'm very much looking forward to running her and Mr. Jenkins this year. As you can see by the results there, his neon don't scare us. That was even the 2004 with the quaiffe. Cindy has really gotten used to that car quickly!!! Have you decided what you're running yet James?? Are you guys gonna be at the 1st Lex. event?

Sweet time man! I can't wait till the season starts picking up here in CO. This will be my second season and it's great to see our cars doing so well
