SCC blurbs

So, FWIW, the Feb SCC has 2 items of MS3 interest:

1. A "computer rendering" of the 2010 Mz3 which kind of looks a mini-CX. Not really news, I suppose. More interesting is they are already talking about it as the basis for the new MS3. These guys talk with Mazda NA a fair amount, so it seems to me they're suggesting the new MS3 won't be the end-of-model-run edition MS's usually are. There also mention a new 2.5 liter DI engine option which they say is good for another 20-30bhp over the current n/a 2.3. Interesting possibilities. Should be coming out right around the time I'm finished paying this one off. For Mazda to keep me on board for the next purchase, I'm kind of hoping another option for the MS will be . . . AWD! Then we could really make use of the extra ponies from a bigger engine.

2. In response to an email from an MS3 owner they have a teaser about something they have "lined up with Mazda that will really get your attention."

Is it just me, or others think that scc and ss are slowly turning into garbage. Sport compact still has a fair amount of technical info and moded cars imo, but Super street is stupid, just a bunch of pics from auto shows, hot chicks and a ******* million ads. I don't mind the girls, but if I subscribe to a CAR magazine, that is what I want to read about.

I used to subscribe to both magazines, but not in the last couple years for that reason. Sorry for the ranting, but this s*** makes me mad. (rant)

I think SCC is the only one worth reading anymore. IT is turning into a bunch of white-wannabe-gangsta-boys, Super Street I've never liked, and Modified is just to short on info. Turbo is good, but its hard to find it around here. While SCC is no longer the size and scope that it used to be, its still good. I think its trying to go just a bit to mainstream though. However, Coleman still writes articles for them, so as far as I'm concerned, they got the technical vote from me.

thats why they have modified mag!!!(ive never found them short on info and Turbo is ok but expensive for a small mag) love that mag, its the only import mag i will read. other than that its just the normal big 4 of the auto mag world.

Serious +1 with that. I'd be well past done paying of the Speed by then, and if they release an AWD 2.5L turbo model with competative power for the time, I'm game.

Yeah I posted both quotes the day that mag came to my house. I also feel SCC has gone down hill after 8 years of subscriptions I am thinking about canning it. Modified is cool but nothing compairs to SCC 2 years ago. I also agree Turbo is too expensive and SS is too ricey.

So you did, on 12/15 no less. I had no idea the Feb issue would already be stale in the 1st week of Jan.

The magazine production schedule is usually two months ahead of time. So the issue you pick up in January is really the March issue. It used to only be one month a while back.
