Satellite radio in non-tech mazdaspeed3?

So I've just recently bought a 2013 mazdaspeed3. I don't have the tech package. How do I get satellite radio in the car? It has a SAT button, but when I hit it nothing happens. Do I need to get something additionally installed?

Yes, you will need the satellite receiver and installation kit. Dealers want around $500 or so for the receiver and install.

You can get the necessary parts and install it yourself and save around $200 or so.

Is the install difficult at all?

The oem kits usually come with step-by-step instructions with pictures. For me it's a cake walk, but I've been installing in cars for over 15 years. If you follow the instructions, get a proper set of panel pry tools and take your time, you'll be fine.
