RX8 wont start..

I just picked up a used RX8 about a week ago with 120k and change. Drove her home and around town a few times and ran perfectly fine. I get in the car today and nothing. The engine will try to turn over, but to no avail. I thought maybe she was flooded so I tried most of the remedies I found online. Nothing. I thought maybe the key wasn't being recognized because the engine won't even budge. Tach won't move an inch. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated!

EDIT: Just tried to start her again just for the hell of it and a tone started going off as well as my check engine light flashing.

Did you buy this from a private owner or a dealer? I would say first to contact the previous owner and find out the scoop. It seems kind of ironic that the car just dies suddenly when you take ownership. Does the car turn over with compression? Could be flooded like you stated, but with the lights flashing, I detect other issues. Did you have a compression test done on it before purchasing? Find someone with a Kiwi and get the code on it, if you can as well. These are questions that are probably going through your head right now, and for good reason. Good luck.

Could just be a dead battery in the key. Have you tried more than one key?
