RX8 RIMS on Laser Blue P5!!!!

:
2013 CX-9
RX8 rims are 18x8 with a +50mm offset.
Toyo Proxes FZ4 215/35/18
Espelir Springs (1.4" drop I think)
Stock Struts

No spacers were used and the fenders have not been rolled (yet). There is no audible rubbing but I'm watching the tires carefully to see if they make contact. I think they might touch under heavy cornering because I saw a slight mark on the rear driver's side. I'll let everyone know if I have to roll the fenders in the future.

And now the moment you've been waiting for...
(sorry if they're a little blurry...I didn't have my tripod with me)

i wanna say Great Job...clean. stockness and hot.
I wouldn't have it any other way. Why mess with a good thing?
i approve...now paint those calipers!
Painting the calipers is next on my list but I'm working on the stereo now so it might be a little while. I can't decide what color though. Black? Silver? Blue? Yellow? Red? So many choices.
they look good and all but with those 35's, you will be bending those wheels.
Possibly, but I'll have fun and they'll look great until I do. The roads are bumpy around me but there are rarely potholes large enough to cause a problem. These are obviously only for the summer so I'm not worried about snow season.

Your P5 looks awesome with those RX-8 rims. Those are probably the best rims that Mazda ever made for a stock car. Looks good!

Once again...another wheel manufacturer chiming in on how "a wheel bigger than the size your car came with will bend" post...Thanks for the warning there paco....oh yeah...:bs:

Get this thought out of your head...Any wheel "CAN" bend...but under "NORMAL" driving situations ,they will not. I have ran many a set of 18" and up wheels with never a problem....and Ive hit some killer 'holes...Lots of friends with 20's+ as well and they dont have a problem for the most part....and thats on bigger and heavier vehicles ...Of course....So get over it...its a myth.

This looks badass! Can't wait to see it in person! How's the ride?

I've tried blue before and I feel that unless you can match exactly or very closely, to choose another color. I think silver would look best. *shrugs*

the stock rx-8 rims are pretty sturdy, should hold up better than average

Well, after driving for about 30 seconds, at which point I had to go over a speed bump to leave my condo complex, I realized my snow tires had turned my suspension into giant jello molds and these rims/tires turned my ride back into the performance machine I had been acustomed to before winter. They are much stiffer than the 16" rotas and 195/50/16 proxes 4 I had on last summer and the ride isn't nearly as bad as people chalk it up to be. Sure, it's rough going over railroad tracks but I'm willing to deal with it if I can take turns like I'm riding on those same railroad tracks!

Thanks for all the positive feedback! This swap has reaffirmed my love for the P5! I'll have more photos once I wash/wax my car.

cool chris!!! hey, who rolled your fenders for you? i'm thinkin od doing my calipers black...?

WOW, looking nice chris.........
