I dont know, but you have to think if one fits one then it should fit the other. Now Just showing a picture does not mean that there was no modification in making it fit. I have no clue if they are interchangeable.

im pretty sure the Miata, Protege, rx-7 from 86-02, and rx8 are all interchangeable.
someone correct me if Im wrong.

sup pat. its michael. ebads friend. haha i actually was gonna ask you. i thought you would know. some of the guys on rx7club have told me that they have taken steering wheels of mp3s, proteges or p5 and it works. they just havent told me whether you gotta mod anything to put em on. if so i am definately getting one of these. my steering wheel is literally peeling apart on the colored part.

did some more research. apparently for the protege wheel or miata wheel to fit on a fd you have to drill something for the fd. i wonder if you have to do anything to get it to fit the other way.

Interesting... I have a spirit R steering wheel in my FD, might see if it fits for the hell of it.

i asked some of the guys over at the rx7 forums and they said to get it to fit wed have to drill two little notches because the turn signal and the wiper thing will get in the way.

For starters I wish I had a real camera.. so sorry for the cell pics. Anyways the 2002 RX-7 Spirit R Wheel can be made to fit, the splines line up, airbag plug is identical and the horn plug looks to be the same.

The difference is the slots that line up the spring return are up/down instead of left/right. You'd have to hog out your own holes to match the ones in the protege wheel... something I'm not about to do because this wheel belongs in my FD.

some of the guys with the red stitched fd wheel said it ran for 800 dollars. so ya. haha i can get the one in the first pic imported though for about 450 usd. which is probably what the stock wheel from mazda costs.

bwalt how would you hog it out?? or what tool would you use??

Dremmel with small carbide bit or a drill maybe.. FYI, I think I paid somewhere around $900 for the wheel about 3 years ago.. crazy but I had to have it.
