Does anyone know what's the difference between RX-8 Euro Spec Vs JDM Spec in terms of engine, body or anything? My wife bought RX-8 last month (used car) and I was told this morning that our RX-8 is Euro Spec by another RX-8 user. He mentioned our RX-8 has two oil cooler where else other spec has one only (overall). What other difference on RX-8 Euro?

Hello,

You car could be a Japanese model fitted with the optional second oil cooler as well. If you look at the Mazdaspeed Japan accessories it lists the oil cooler kit. I would look for tell tale signs it is a Japanese import like a Japanese text owners manual and such.

the obvious way to tell a japanese import of course is if it's RHD, 180km/h speed governor, the radio frequencies are way different and the VIN doesn't use a 17 digit system like most of the world uses

a JDM VIN will say SE3P-######
a EDM VIN will start with JMZFE
a ADM VIN will start with JM0FE
an official RHD import (if it exists) VIN will start with JM6FE

it's hard to believe that a UK/irish import will make it all the way back into asia since it's ridiculously expensive... I'm more inclined to believe that Japan finally received dual oil coolers for the manual transmission models like the rest of the world did since 2003

Hello everyone,
Sorry about the typo error, Corksport. No disrespect.
NCZ13, thanks for pointing out.
TheMan, thanks for the tips.

Well, this is my observation
After reading everyone recommendations:
- No Japanese Owner manual (by the way, don't have an owner manual in the car), No Japanese text on/in the car, everything is in english;
- No governor speed limit 180km/h. The car goes beyond 230km/h. Probably can go to 250km/h, but don't have the guts to go that far;
- The Vin as follow: JMZSE173600124189

The car was imported to Singapore in 2005, and then, exported to Brunei last 2 months ago as used car. So, not sure if it was Japan or Euro.
