RX-7 for $250!!!

A friend of mine here in Louisville just picked up this beauty in a junkyard from an unweary guy for only 250 bux! They are out there...the junkyard guy said it had a bad motor, but good tranny...all my friend had to do was ATF her and she was running smooth!

There's so many people who don't realize that a rotary engine may not be bad and ATF can usually get it started. That is a sweet 7 BTW.

Tell you friend good luck getting that Pacesetter Exhaust off...lol...I helped a friend take one off his 7 and it was a big pain, because the whole thing rusted out.

Automatic Transmission Fluid....It helps break down carbon deposits and restore lost compression on a rotary.

they smoke like a MOFO afterwords. i had to barrow the exhaust off a turbo that a mechanic had tried the ole ATF trick on and since he didn't get the car started the ATF hadn't bruned off yet. once the mufflers got heated up all this white smoke just poured out of them. my mechanic friend was riding with me and said real cool and collectively "why are we smoking?" i look back and all you could see was a white cloud sucked for the people behind us. oh well

LOL...funny you mention this. I had a neighbor a block away call the fire department it was so bad. Then the fire truck couldn't see to get down the street.

reguarding ATF, i use regular engine oil. does the trick and wont foul up the plugs super fast like ATF. but good find !

Yeah, but they are a work of art compared to most plugs. I love it when auto parts stores don't know the difference between leading and trailing plugs and when people install them backwards...lol

Man I showed this to my roommate who has an 88 RX7 Turbo 2 and boy was he pissed. He has over $8000 in his and sad to say but that one for $250 looks better. Great find. I think it may have been just the kick in the nuts he needed to start on the car again.
