Rust spots on paint?

[CX-7 Crystal]

I wash my CX-7 with the Crystal Pearl paint by hand. By doing this I notice any chips or scratches, etc. that it may have and have noticed many rust-colored spots all over the car, smaller than the head of a pin. (You wouldn't notice them unless you get really close) Has anyone else noticed this? Is it RUST? Should I bring this to the attention of the dealer?

I have noticed this on my fiance's old 2004 Mazda 3 and my Mazdaspeed 3. If you use a claybar, it will come off. I really don't know what's it's from, but it's very annoying. I would like to know why this happens too.

I believe its from when the cars were riding the train from port to your local area.

no its industrial fallout (brake dust, pollution in the air, exhaust gas emissions) it gets embedded in the paint and rusts. the only way to get it out is by claying.

your car needs to be clayed at the minimum 2x a year.

the more often the car is washed and waxed, you wont get as many containments.
