Is it actually worth it to get rust proofing? I seem to think it will help but I dont know much about it. I figure if I keep my car clean most of the winter its no biggy?

But If it is worth it where should I go and are there different types?

on that note, whats IS the deal with those protection packages you can get when you buy a new car. . do they just spray another clear coat on or something ?

Do a YEARLY chassis oiling/spray. The stuff works wonders, prevention is key to maintaining a nice ride. For the those of you with some rust already cover it up with rust bullet/por-15 or repair it and then give it protection.

doesnt our car have a 100k rust warranty?....add on portection packages are a high end polish/wax type....most have warranty's that come with the application. you use to hear a lot about oiling the under, of your car but its really a thing of the past just keep it clean and you should be fine. its always good to take out the wheel liners after winter to get the salt out and make sure the insides of the doors get clean thats where most cars rust

Yes my car has a rust warrenty from factory defect. Regular rust isnt actually an OEM defect so your essentially not covered for s***.

i work at a ford dealership and i worked at a toyota /chevy before and we did a lot of rust repair under warranty... its a defect if it rusts
