rust proofing? etc....

when buying a new car, what do you need to get done? and what is BS? my mazdaspeed is 20,500 MSRP.....what are they gonna try to tag onto that? like rust proofing, or undercoating, or anything else, and what of those things they are trying to tag on is legit, and what is just a line?

I do live in the northeast with decent winters if that matters....

take into consideration how long YOU think you may keep the MSP....a long time? do they use SALT on the roads there? would you maybe like to make the ride a little bit quieter?

if the answer to these questions are yes....then you may want to consider having the undercoating done.....

how many miles a year do you put on a car? average? or a lot more? do you think you will put on more than 50K in 3 years? if so...you MAY want to think about an extended warrantee...but IF you decide to get one...pay for it outright, don't finance it with your car...or you are paying a lot more for it when you figure in the interest...and something else...you can always get it later....
