like I said before.... lets just do the damn thing!!!! anywhere, lets have it in el paso for all i care, lets just decide allready so those of us that will have to be traveling can make the adequite plans

So who else agrees in an attempt to salvage this years meet lets make the best decision for the MEET and just give it to houston... i think it would be only fair since we cant come to an agreement as to which of these 2 citys and like its been said its never been held in houston...i of course am only speaking for my self and a few from san antonio but we believe its the only and best decision to make...Of course i would love to have it in my home town of SA but like myself and a few others have stated we only want a good meet and if having it on neutral territory will accomplish it then so be it...if SA wins im pretty sure we all would agree to just have it in houston...i cant speak for Dallas but im pretty sure a few of them feel the same way as 09WhiteBlackAzz mentioned he feel the same way...i know there are a few people in dallas, sa, and austin who wont agree with this but oh well...So if its all the same to everyone lets just end this now and give it to houston so they can start planning, and so can everyone else whos going...

I voted for SA, but will drive wherever. All this bitching is making me wonder if it's going to be a friendly meet or if I should just skip the drama. :p

which is exactly why i say we just give it to houston to avoid all of the potential drama that may occur because one city lost to the other this way neither gets it and it goes to a city which has never had it...i myself thought about skipping this year because i didnt want to deal with any drama from either side and i didnt feel it would have heen a good turn out either way it went due to some possible bad blood between the 2 citys so this way its all avoided

we should end the poll and thread and give it to either houston or austin

the only reason i say houston over austin is because of the 2 first polls there was a max of like 6 votes for austin and more for houston

Feel like I'm watching Congress at work here, narrow it down to two decisions then say lets scrap them both and go w/ the one we threw out at the start ha ha. I mean no complaints, I'm fine with it wherever it goes. I voted San Ant. but Houston works for me, Dallas, whatever. Depending on when it is I might or might not be able to make it anyway with my wife being due in June, but I feel a poll for "Should we say f' it and go to Houston?" coming lol.

I feel fairly strong about just starting the rotation in either dallas or san antonio and move one direction or the other for the following years. we haven't yet had one here, so we can wait two more years. not really stressing about it but I will be less than pleased if we are just doing it in houston after all that we have gone through thus far. we have talked ourselves in one giant circle over the course of 3 threads now.

I just want the arguing to be over and some solutions to be made. this is the most elegant of solutions that we have at the time.

Whats with all the arguing about everything, we should be excited to meet other Mazda enthusiasts regardless where the meet is held and how it is done. Wheres the Mazda love at?

thats why i say lets just scrub SA and Dallas and have it on netural terrritory in Houston with all the bickering that is going on i dont feel it will be a good time if its held in either SA or Dallas....since its never been in Houston lets have it there
And not to be rude but we had a poll for a reason

Your right everyone should be exited to meet other people but that's not the case with everything that been goin on...and for the love im pretty sure everyone has it...but its just dificult when a unified decision can't be made and disagrements are being had over the location...and you didn't come across as rude but for the poll I know why it was made but if its not kept honest then what's the point...I guess all of this really dosent matter since well have a decision tomorrow and all of this will be over and the winning city can start the planning who ever wins I just hope everyone from every city could pull resources and a great meet could be made

here here then the rotations can start. we wont have to worry about it any more.

on a side note i went mudding in my hatch today woot

it wasnt intentional i assure you lol hit a wet spot o crap i started to get stuck floored it and got out but slung mud everywhere

ok i was gonna say you got a nice lookin 3 cant imagine you would do it intentionaly...but as long as its all good then... WOOT

I'm gonna have to apologize for this up front, but first of all, I don't buy the "move it to Houston to avoid the drama" idea. who really gets bad blood over an internet poll? And if someone actually does, what are they going to do? Spend a couple bills to show up and beef for 2 days? It really doesn't make sense. I just can't picture people willing to drive across the state as being the unfriendly type, but that's just my opinion.

Secondly, the only logical reason to move it to Houston would be to improve turnout versus the turnout for a statewide meet in Dallas or SA... but we did the polls, and it came down to Dallas or SA. Also, to my understanding, the original vote was skewed by false votes for Houston. Having said those two things, Dallas to Houston is the same trip as Dallas to SA, so that only adds people who are specifically against going to SA, which is... one person?

I agree with the guy who said this is like watching Congress... everybody has problems, and nobody has solutions. Except here's my solution... if you're thinking "should I be a part of the statewide meet?", I can simplify things for you... A Texas statewide meet is probably not for you if: the state of Texas is too big for you, you don't have some money to burn, you're not enthusiastic about driving, you prefer your usual local meets, you're xenophobic/bigoted, you have to baby your car, you're a workaholic, or you have ridiculously high expectations.

Now I'm not trying to speak for anyone, and I'm not saying those are all bad things, but if you do fall into one of those categories, don't involve your personal issues in this conversation, because it distracts attention from the goal, which is actually a STATE WIDE MEETING. If these simple guidelines were followed, a statewide meet could be organized a lot faster with a much better end result.

Finally, has this really become "Which local meet will a couple of out-of-towners go to this year?", when the question should be "Where in Texas are we going to plan a meet this year?" If you're not down with the final decision, then sit this one out and come up with a plan that will convince folks statewide to meet in your town next time, you might be surprised who is willing to show up for a good plan.

thanks, im going to try not to do it again.

the only thing preventing me from going to any of the cities is the date and the date alone. im in school and i hope its sometime in may after school ends. it shouldnt be too hot then either, should be nice and warm

actually, the original vote was skewed for san antonio, not houston. other than that edit, I agree with you on not moving it to houston. the vote is the vote.
