running lean at idle?

went to dealership today to change oil & cel.....i was thinking the cel was another gas cap issue since i have already had one since november when my cx-7 was purchased. the service guy came & said his computer said "it was running lean at idle & when not in idle & is gonna take a while to fix." no problem...he then came back 5 min. later & said it was due to the short ram intake i put on. said the air temp was too high & should just put factory box back on.....does this sound right? i have just intake filter with an adapter for maf sensor w/ factory box removed....

that is not the problem but first check out if you intalled right!!! Did you used to have a mazdaspeed protege???

Pulling underhood air will cause problems like you're having.

ya everything is hooked up right...i was thinking maybe something to do w/ it just @ idle for too long....but dunno...good excuse to get cold air & new intercooler i guess. we need a fmic kit...
