Running an open dp...

I have the stock dp on the car still and I need to know a few things:

1) Will it hurt the car if I run an open dp at the track?
2) Will i get any gains out of it?

1) it wont hurt you car running open downpipe, just really rich
2) depending on how much boost you are running it might make a difference, usually 10psi and up will give you a noticable gain, if lower you might see your trap speed 1-2 miles faster.

i ran open dp and it felt slower to me, no tq at all, and it was loud as ****, you will probably get a ticket if you drive around like that.

I ran a 14.6 on 10psi and open dp(no other mods). But most tracks require mufflers to be attached to race, so make sure you check the track for info on that. No it will not hurt your car either.
