hey guys..i always keep my rpm under 3000....i seldom goes over 3000...cause i want my car to last longer...
so i want to know if i always keep the car 3000 it will be better for cars right??
or i do not need to care about it and just goes to high rpm??
by the way..mine is AT...

actually you can be TOO EASY on a car....it will cause you to develope carbon deposites in the engine as well.....its actually good to open it up once in a while....its not uncommon to run her up to 5K now and then....and always keeping her under 3K isn't really going to help you.....of course your gas milage will be pretty good. :{D

I wish I had that problem, I find myself shifting at 5800 all the time, Its the only way to get any power out of P5. Oh well, thats why I got the extended warranty.

yea..i know you have to push hard to get the power..but our car car push up pretty easy compare to other car...which have 2.0 engine......
but always keep the rpm under 3k is good right???.....of course i did boost her up to 5k for awhile.....

Well, I regularly shift my MP3 around 4k+.
I also have been autocrossing about every other weekend since february, and I run second gear to redline a couple times a weekend doing that. Chances are my engine won't last as long, but if you stay under 3000, you might as well have bought a Honda Insight and left the performance car you have for someone who enjoys driving it.
I'm not trying to be rude, but realistically, these cars were made to be driven. Run it up! The car will be fine. If you can't enjoy it, there's no need having it. Its just an object. It's replacable. Life isn't. You only get one life. Live it up!

skman, i used to think the same way. i would drive 60 on the highway and never let my baby go above 3500 rpm. i would drive like an old granny. i also was going to keep the car stock with everything. but soon i was like "hey, i got the car to enjoy it" so why not enjoy it. now i pretty much race around town and have fun. i have also painted the brake calipers, removed intake silencer, removed the racks, now i am modifying the fog switch to have fog light control when parking brake is on. i doubt i will touch the wheels, springs or sound system. bottom line, yeah in the long run the car might last a little longer and you might have less problems if you keep it at reasonable rpm. but when you decide to trade it in down the road, you'll be like "you know, i never did drove this car, i only rode in it". trust me, eventually you will get tired of driving under 3k.
yours is an auto? break it in properly then find an empty stretch of road, put it into first and punch it. when you get to 6400, move the shifter into second and so on. you'll be pleasantly surprised and you wouldn't be able to wipe a smile off your face :)
btw, guys, sorry about making this crap so long.

thanks guys...that's so true...you brought the car is to enjoy it...not just trying to keep the car last long but you never get a try of driving across the road...from now on...i'll boost the car once a while...actually i did boost the car to 5.5k last time...i was faster than i expected...maybe the gas padel is light...it gave you a feeling that when you just press it a little and lots of gas is injected...
actually i'm really really enjoy having this car right now...hope everyone is the same with me
