Route 43 Fun (Pics/Video)

This weekend me and some friends went to Route 43, which is 4 miles of twisty heaven. It was me (Blue MSP), a WRX, and E46 328i, and an E28 535is. Anyway, we took some video and some pictures, so I thought you guys might enjoy. The video is mostly me in my blue MSP, because the camera car (my friends 535is) was behind me.

Note: I'm only linking the pictures because they are huge. If anyone can resize them to a manageable size, I'd greatly appreciate it. Let me know what you think of the video. Hope you guys enjoy.

P.S. - Look at the video at about 55 seconds into it. Who said FWD can't drift (at least it can when it finds some gravel) ;)

pretty cool :)

*looks to see where he put the 211 video *sigh* got to get working on that again*

That wasn't a drift.

When you can turn the steering wheel one way, spin the tires, and have the car be going where the steering wheel is pointing, SIDEWAYS, and hold it for as long as you want that's a drift.

Dream on.

P.S. I've done the above in heavy rain. Very cool to see the WTF faces.

I drift at least once a week. All it takes is a downhill grade 50 degree turn and about 65 MPH and the MSP becomes a drift machine. :D

Who said FWD can't drift

Looked like some Lift Throttle Oversteer to me.......but you did say there was Gravel on the Road.

I dont believe it looks like they are going that Slow, but the Camera seems to be hiding alot of the Speed as its such a steady mount and there is no Sound from the Vehicles or Wind......Seems to give it the illusion the Pace is Slower.

Yeah, it was a joke.... No need to be a dick. I had a first gen rx-7, I know what a drift is.

why are you going so slow?

The camera hides most of the speed. We were going really fast, heh. Next time I'll probably zoom in a little bit with the camera. I might get an autoxcam sometime (www.autoxcam.com). The reason the rear kicked out a little was cause I hit gravel. It wasn't lift oversteer, just took it too wide and ended up in a little dirt. Anyone's welcome to come next time and see how fast we were going :x. If I get an autoxcam and mount it on the front lip, you'll be able to see a lot more.

Oh and btw, if you watch the way the cars react to the road you can kinda see the speed (the way they bounce etc). I'll post next time we go, maybe we can get a group up.
