2000 Civic EX (it looked stock minus wheels and tires)
Both getting onto the freeway in opposing lanes. It was pretty close after about 5 yards,,, but then by by. Before I actually hit the freeway I was at 100 and he was a distant memory. But about 3 minutes later I see him speed past me in the carpool lane. I hope a cop catches him in that lane without a passenger. But what made even less sense was that there was no traffic at all, so the fact that he was even in the carpool lane made me wonder.
about 5 minutes later I line up next to:
2001/2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
This was a crazy one. We were both getting on the freeway again and this guy is revving hard and the car sounded mean! To be honest I was a little scared. He was in the left lane so he had the advantage going into the turn to the onramp. We both take off and he gets me off the bat by about a car legnth. Once I get into second it cuts to about 1/2 a legnth. After that there was no movement whatsoever. I didn't gain and niether did he. We got upto about 100 and then I called it quits. I'm not big into highspeed accidents.
From what I've read the 2000 GTP runs a 6.8 in the 0-60 and 15.0 in the 1/4.... Not bad... It hink if we lined up on a straight away I would've had him. It was that initial adavantage of the inside turn that gave him the car legnth. I am also wondering if it was stock?
