Just wondering if anyone is having any issues with their Xdrilled rotors cracking? I was in the original SU group buy wayy back (over 2 yrs ago). Just changed my brakes a few weeks ago and noticed these tiny hairline cracks. Anyone else?

thats exactly why cross drilled rotors are not the best way to go.

hmm, i have those, but they went on in the fall, so i suspect you have had yours much longer.
i will check for you when i get home. but i dont think there is much to be done.

I might hafta go check on mine now. They've been stopping great, but I havent looked at them that closely in awhile.

Looked at mine yesterday, no cracks, but i guess i can watch for it in the future, as i mentioned i havent had them that long, and i dont usually have to do much hard braking either.

I was thinking of getting some form rotorworks just like those. Are they any good? What kind of driving are you doing? Regular and spirited driving or autoX?

I'm running rotors from R1 Concepts. They are dimpled AND slotted but NOT drilled through for the extra strength. Good luck so far..(6 mos.) corrosion resistant(important in Maine) and they look great. I think they are made in Canada and were about $140us for the front pair.

808808, thanks I just ordered my MSP rotors form R1 Concepts, cross drilled and slotted for about $130 shipped. Great Deal(2thumbs)

Cool man, hope you like em, I spent some extra $$ for the black zinc coated option and they are showing minimal signs of corrosion after a harsh Maine winter. They put Potassium Chloride on the roads here instead of salt and EATS cars.

BTW, I just went to their website and did not see the dimpled rotors I bought from them, only cross drilled. Did you call and ask them if they still have them? Did you make sure they were the dimpled/slotted model? I did not see the same ones listed on their site just now.

I asked the guy there what he thought about drilled vs dimpled and decided that since i dont go autox and dont slam on my brakes drilled should be fine. They dint have any pics of the dimpled rotors, they charge $5 for each rotor if you want them dimpled. How much did they charge you for the black zinc coating? I was thinking of asking them to do the black zinc coating but forgot about it. Is it better than the silver coating?

That's why I tell people time and time again, it's always worth the extra money to get your brake rotors professionally cryo-treated. It GREATLY reduces wear and tear. Your rotors will last longer and be sturdier.

i have same exact rotors (for a few years too) and just went out to check...all of mine are in great shape with no problems. i did see one hole in one rotor that looked like in your pictures and i just like rubbed it and it was just dirt and went away. you sure its really cracking? not good.

Mostly regular driving with an occasion spirited drive. I wouldnt say I abuse my brakes but I have been known to " test them out ". No autoX.

im sure its cracking. I noticed because before I changed my pads I sanded off the rust ,cleaned and painted the rotors.
Its sucks. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it. Just keep an eye on yours!
