Rotating Tires for performance cars

I was just wondering how many of you guys rotate your tires? I've heard from two different sources that rotating tires, specially for performance tires like ours, help the car's performance and keeps the tires in better shape. I've been told to do this every other time I get an oil change.

Has anyone done this?

thanxs.

Yeah,

I rotate mine every few thousand miles. Since we have directional tires, the rotation is not a normal one.

and also are our wheels the same size?

At Discout Tire I believe that they just move the front wheel to the back, and the back wheel to the front on the same side without dismounting the tire from the rim.

Correct, for our tires you can only do front-back or vice versa on the same side. To switch sides, you'd need to re-mount the tires on the opposite rims...

Oh DAM!!! My racing harts are currently OFF because i put my winter set of rims on.... So i lost track of which rim+tires are on which side of the car.... So what should i do next spring/summer when i put them back on ??? HELP!!! :( :(

if you look on the tire there are directional arrows pointing in the direction the tire should be rotating. from there it shouldnt be too hard to figure out which goes where

If you can't remember which tire came from where here is a good tip to figure it out. First, the direction arrow will tell you which side the tire was on. Then, you will have to make an educated guess on whether the tire is the front or rear. If you didn't clean them, the wheel with the most brake dust is probably the front tire because the front brakes do most of the braking. Otherwise you may want to check the tread depth because the front tires normally wear faster than the rear because they are the drive wheels.

Good luck,

Tim
