Rota Wheels

What do you guys think of Rota Wheels? It is a cheap alternative to overpriced aftermarket wheels. Reviews i've seen online seem promising. Subie people use them. They are knock offs of other brands, but it seem that they're strong and light enough, and also cheap. I'm trying to save money and i really need a set of wheels when spring comes cause right now my stock rims are mounted with winters and i dont want to keep mounting/unmounting tires. And besides I wan a new look for my ms3.

Any comments about Rota Wheels durability, style and affordability?

I like them a lot. I plan on picking up a set to run some Azenis on when I build my dedicated autocross duty car. Hell, I might get them now and run them on my car until then.

I haven't heard anything negative about their durability. Rogue used to run a set on his P5 every day. In fact, if you want a cheap set, he's selling his for like 300, in very good condition.

The hub bore from the Surbaru comunity is the wrong size for our cars. That limits your options from Rota. I know Laloosh has a set of 16" PF45's. Other than that there were some threads with brain storming about milling the center bores larger or group buys for the correct bore and offset. Search for thoses and see what their answers were. I am a wheel ***** so if Rota's were avalible I would have a set for every day of the week. They aren't too heavy, stayed true, had good paint quality, lots of color/finish options, and best of all are cheap.

Like I said, PM rogue lol, he has a cheap set in great condition, that came off of his car, no hub boring required.

Actually they have several wheels; 18 7.5 5hx114.3 and they happen to be the style i like. So i guess i'm lucky then, lucky cause they fit and they get good reviews. I saw that they are 20.1 lbs each. Better then the 25 lbs stocker.

Thanks guys for the quick input. If anything I'll go Enkei, they cheapest they have. or Gram lights.

Yeah good luck picking. There are alot of great styles out now. Once you get wheels the car looks so much better in my opinion. I have seen only about 3 sets that I felt the stockers looked better.

If you guys have some free time look it up. Tarmac 3 either in sports bronze or hyper black. My car is black mica. also the site is rotawheels.com I photoshopped tarmac 3 to my car, but i borrowed some one's pic from this forum, i forgot from whom. but if there are no repucussion from posting that pic, then i would so u guys can see.

i've had rotas on my subie for close to 30k miles. i love them. they're cheap enough, light enough and definitely have been able to handle daily driving. i've read of people getting them machined through subydude to the correct hub bore for mazdas.

depending on the color of your car, sports bronze looks fantastic.

Man, I love that sports bronze color, but I don't think it will look good on a true red ms3.

i've got it on aspen white and i think it looks awesome. i saw it on world rally blue and...not so much. of course, that's my opionion, but it should look pretty sweet on true red.

Imo, white, yellow, black and maybe silver would look good with sports bronze. Red, blue not so much. But then again I haven't really seen a pic of a red car with bronze wheels.

My Rota P-1s 18x8 +48 in Hyper Silver bored out from 56.1 to 67.1 should be arriving tomorrow. I got them from the "Subaru Man" GB over on the "other" forum.

here's the photoshopped pic. not quite nice as tireracks would do it, but u get the idea. To the person who owns this pic. sorry for using your pic. I would use my own pics but yours have the same highlights as the wheels.

I have Rota P1's in Hyper Black bored out and bought from subydude. They are 18x8 +48. Still using the stock rubber, too.

Best thing about them being so cheap? When you curb them (and you will) it doesn't hurt quite so much.

In the second picture you can see the film is still on the centercap. Forgot to take it off, woops!

Bush and TRSpeed...you guys have 8" width and stock tires still. Would that affect performance by fitting 7.5" tires to a 8" width wheel?

Does it rub your struts and shocks and fenders? Is the +45 offset ok with brake clearance...how bout when u upgrade for big brakes kit? How much did you pay for them?

You guys are the champion of this thread since you guys have Rota wheels already.
