im looking for a roof rack for a speed6, to carry snowboards/skis, want somthing removable which wont put holes in the roof, any ideas

I use Yakima racks

I bought Yakima racks to haul kayaks, skis, etc., and they work well. The advantage of Yakima over Thule is that you can spread the bars a bit more and not worry about the angle changing. I was worried about it looking awful, but the black racks actually look OK on a white car. It's a little more obvious with the big red kayak on top . . .

Link above didn't work. So will these racks leave scuff marks on your car? Are there any that have pressure points on the black runners instead of the paint?

I was looking into the yakima racks and I didnt get a good response - shops ive called think there are better options out there, but I cant find any other removable systems anywhere

I am willing to bet Mazda has a rack assembly that goes for the MS6, since my trim pieces up top came loose and had to go back to the dealer, Well one flew off ( drivers side) there are welded nut assemblies there that you can bolt something into. That being said the Volvo's and Beemers, that we used to deal with in Europe had a little sliding track that covered the holes for the rack up. Odds are our cars have the same racks somewhere. I would say get with the Mazda dealer and see if they sell the actual stuff to do it with. I have to go pick my car up today after the two recalls were performed.

Usually the dealers know less than what you can find online. I have searched multiple forums and I would think between 2003 and now someone would have figured out that there was a factory option and posted a photo of it. I did some research and to get a 4-pair ski rack from either Yakima or Thule is going to cost over $300. That isn't a price I"m willing to pay for the handful of ski trips I make each year.
