well i tried to buy a car for winter for about 2 months now and couldn't find anything cheap what so ever. so it finally snowed here in the big O (omaha) this morning and couldn't barely get to the place that i got my rims at. luckily they had a set of 15" black rims and tires to fit for cheap. car looks ugly and honda-ish.....but hey, i need to get around for winter. how many others can sit on my side with me on this one?

I hear ya - gotta have snows on. Speaking of which, now that my MSP is wrecked I will be selling my Semperit SportGrip winter tires (they are awesome snows) with Protege5 rims. Basically everything is in mint condition. If anyone reading this is interested just PM me. I'm hoping to get a for sale thread up soon.

dude i know!!! i am "snowed" in... i couldnt get home in time to get my steelies switched over so... i'm stuck. I jsut started her up and backed her up into my usual parking spot.

cut myself on ice on my windshield, discover k-sports are squeeky when caked in ice, and that the banana doesnt like life in the cold too much.

oh man, my car HATES the cold weather. but then again, what i can i say, i hate the cold weather to. takes away from all the fun things i do during the summer and when its warm and still light outside at 5 o'clock. but the only good thing is when it gets warm again, i think i might have a pile of goodies to add to the car........but we'll see. i've already ordered some of the stuff i wanted to get, but i'm impatient and when i get things, i make time to put them on, so we'll see how it goes.

I got the banana fired up today and actually turned over pretty easy considering we havent tuned for this cold with the microtech... Once she was warmed up... holy hell...

just cruising in 3rd gear about 3k... put the hammer down, and spins through the entire damn gear... lol. she loves the cold!

man, these wheels suck. i didn't think it would make that much of a difference in the way the car rides. it's bouncy as hell. doesn't quite handle as good either. but it's real easy to brake these tires loose on dry pavement pretty much cuz they suck. it's only been 3 days and definately ready to take these s*** wheels off and put the 18's back on. damn the snow!!!

semperits

do you have a price in mind for the semperits? are the wheels black steelies or factory alloys? what is the diameter? how far from chicago are you?

Hey Rex, the tires 205/55/16 (16 inch - and they are nearly the perfect match in size to the stock MSP tires, so your speedo will be accurate). The rims are the stock 2003 Protege5 alloy rims -- which are obviously MUCH nicer than ugly-ass steelies.

Basically I just want to get rid of these wheels/tires, so my price is cheep...however shipping alone is OVER $100. I'm about 5 hours north of Chicago if you would want to pick them up...or meet somewhere semi-close for me to pick them up - which would save you over $100. I haven't thought much about how much I'd want to sell them for...they're basically perfect yet...so I'd like to get $200 for them but obvioulsy if I have to ship them to somebody that'd put the total price over $300..which would make them pretty hard to sell. Let me know what you think.
