roll fender

I'm not sure if this should go in this section or the appearance section, I need help. I need to roll my fenders, I went to wide with my rims =(. But its so worth it. So now I went to some places and the cheapest quote I got was from some guy who wanted 250 bucks to grind the lip and paint it. I dont want to grind the lip, I just want it rolled. He said that there wasn't enough material to roll it without the paint chipping and actually flaring out the actualy quarter panel.

so...heres the to the point.... Has anyone rolled their fenders on an MS3, I have spoken to several people with MS6's but i'd like to know first hand someone who HAS rolled their fenders and if they can give me some pointers.
Preferably with a fender rolling machine, none of that barbarian sledge hammer s***.
I'm just worried about there not being enough material like this guy said and ******* up my whole quarter panel.

I haven't done mine yet but plan on maybe grinding my fenders and bowing them out a little to fit 18x8 or 18x9 with a +38 offset. I know that's extreme but I've only seen it done on one car. It was a regular 3 hatch but it's basically the same configuration as the MS3.

Sorry I couldn't offer you any helpful info. You wouldn't happen to have any pics of your wheels on your car would you? I'd like to see how your fitment sits. What wheel specs do you have?

Here are a few pics of that 3 I was talking about. He has 18x8 +45 offset in the front with a 10mm spacer which gives him a +35 offset, and 18x9 +45 offset in the rear with a 5mm spacer which gives him a +40 offset. What his reasoning for the spacers were, I don't know. I think they were an overkill, but I still like his setup. Tires are 225/40 in front and 255/35 in back. He has that VIP look from the rear. It actually looks like he slightly bowed his fenders out too, maybe even rolled or grinded them. He also had to go with negative camber in the rear. With his setup, I would have too.

Ok, I'm going to take a guess at this. It looks like you may have went with a staggered fitment with 18x8 in front and 18x8.5 in back. I can't tell what offset, +40 or +45 maybe? And you kept the 215/45 stock tires.

First thing I would suggest, you get new tires. 215/40 or 215/35 depending on how much ride comfort and/or wheel protection you want. But at this point it really doesn't matter. What matters is you're trying to keep yourself from rubbing and I'm pretty sure you're rubbing all the time, right?

You definately need to roll or grind the fenders, whatever it takes because with your setup you will always rub. Or...put your stock wheels back on, sell those wheels and try again with another set of wheels with the correct fitment. Probably your best bet.

eeehhh WRONG! LOL both rims, front and back are 18x8 with 40 mm offset, its an optical illusion but they back have a 3 inch lip the front have a 2 inch lip. tires are the stock potenzas.

I have seen a how to with roller and read some stuff I should have remembered. But when I wimped out and bought the 225/40 I was fine and forgot. Something about heat applied to keep paint from cracking. I am pretty sure it has been done though. I am lowering and stiffening the suspension bits shortly. So i hope we get some good info back here. cause I probably will need to roll rears also at that point.

i rolled my fenders myself with a baseball bat 2 friends and a grinder to hit that back part.

Are you considering or will you have no need to do this. Can you direct me to someone who has used the roller? I am pleased that the professional's tool is available. I am going to do the suspension Upgrade. i should gather as much information about this as I can

rolled my fenders in Miami for 120 bucks, driving to the shop i hit some railroad tracks and rubbed significantly...left the shop after I rolld my fenders and hit the same spot without even a noise. I see a suspension mod in my future.
