First off, im at stock ride height. I really want some 17's and still dont really understand rishie's recipe(well i kinda do and kinda dont). I want to lower my car soon, probably 1 1/2 inches or so nothing more than 2 probably not that close though. so here are my two choices and if you could help me decide on the size of the wheels and plus offset too, bc the site im ordering of doesnt say anything about offset(whats offset btw?) wheelmax.com oh and im pretty sure our bolt patter is 5x114.3 if im wrong doh and correct me please. I have about a 800max price range. any other input would be freaking great. im kinda leaning towards the p5 just cause of the name and it seems to have more of a deep dish look to it. i know some of you have experience with exels. i was looking at the office p5 wheel page and saw one guy with some exels, just hope they arent really really cheap. and whoever helps me out with this omgoodnes (bow) . imma give them a call on wed. to ask about offset and a little more details ill keep ya folks posted. dont laugh once i post pics maybe a month or so. dirty, rock chips, dirty, accident left my driver side bumper not so sit flush with fender anymore no idea how to get it tighter, and im not lowered yet so ill look like a p5-suv(shrug)

First off is the Exel DL-46(gunmetal)
205/40/17 offset? rubbing? anything after i lower?
215/45/17 offset? rubbing? anything after i lower?

as mentioned.....IF the wheel you are going to buy is a 17X7....and you stick with a 205 series tire...you can get away with a +45.... guys have no problems at all with that arrangement...

if you go with a 17 X 7.5 wheel....and either a 205 or a 215 series tire...you need to get a +48. if you don't....you WILL rub in the back.

okay so imma go for a 205/40/17 17x7 at least needs to be an offset of 45? correct
oh and what sucks is i called wheelmax sold out of the p5's and they wont have it until march booo

that math isn't 100% correct in this thread... with a 7" wide wheel you can run a +42 offset, because its basically the same thing (on the outside) as a +48 offset on a 7.5" wheel.

of course +45 is safer, because it allows you to get away with a slightly wider tire.

my advice is to stick to Rishie's Fitament guide though, simply because it takes tire brand and guessing out of the equasion.

if you did get a 7" wide +45 offset wheel you could easily run ANY brand of 215/40/17 ( a 215/45/17 would be too much diameter, making your speedo whacky)

but since there are many more tires available in a 205/40 then you can run those too. its really up to you.

i can vouch for this as it is my exact setup.

as well here. the offset is great and gives the car a wider stance, with the bottoms of the rear wheels protruding from the side of the car. it looks badass especially with 1-2 degrees of negative camber

i must say with my tein springs, my car looks bad ass. a little wider tire and from behind on a small car they are just the right size.
