To all those looking at an inexpensive way to lower your car and get better handling... Invest in a full suspension kit! I had the Eibach springs on my 2 for a month and this past weekend converted it back to stock.
The good: Handling was an improvement. The car didn't feel like it floated on the highway and cornering was fun.
The bad: The ride quality was extremely rugged! I felt every bump and imperfection on the road. Slight popping when suspension is under pressure.

TheCorksport rear torson bar and front sway bar really help the vehicle in everyday driving and make the car fun to drive. . I have been happy with both of these products.

The Corksport CAI is good quality however have been unhappy with the fitment. The air filter rest against the battery and cables and the silicon mount that goes against the MAF is a nightmare to install. The metal band that clamps it down to the MAF is to small.

I had the same problem with the CAI -- you can slide the battery further back in the tray to make more room for the filter. Email Derrick @ Corksport and he can send you out a larger clamp, I used the stock one until I got a replacement CS one. And yes, the silicon mount was a PITA for me to install too -- much bleeding of the hands and cursing done by me, but happy now that it is installed.

Also, the CS exhaust really made a nice difference to the CAI -- throttle response was much snappier once I got the exhaust on, even with no race pipe version. Butt dyno tells me there is a nice HP?torque gain there as well. :)

Funny that you say that about the air intake. I have been really really happy with the performance gains from that, as well as the exhaust, but that damn silicon coupler was one of the worst install experiences I have ever had. It took me nearly 2 full hours, hardly stopping at all, cussing, pushing, pulling stretching, trying over and over and over, not to mention a bucket of sweat, to get that damn thing on. Everything else that was part of the install took all of 15 minutes max. Once on, I was very happy, but not so much before that! Like Jond, I pushed the battery back on its tray and there is no contact with the filter anymore. The cables do lightly touch the intake but nothing is pressed together. I would recommend looking into that.

I wouldn't say the Eibachs alone are a bad ride. I had my Pro Kits on my 2 for close to a year until I got the CS shocks/struts.
I never had any bad noises from the suspension with the springs alone. Obviously the stock shocks/struts need to have a little better dampening for the Eibachs, or any other lowering spring, but the car rode just fine with no issues with the Eibachs alone.

Have you loosened the battery bracket and slid the battery back towards the firewall? There is some space there to get 1/2 inch or more clearance.

Ditto on moving the battery slightly further back. Big difference.

I bought a used CS intake and the silicone coupler slid right on. First time issue? Try a little spray lube?

Spray lube may ruin the coupler and or make it more likely to fall off in the near future.

I haven't seen anything like that come up with our silicone connectors, do you know what kind of spray lube was doing that?
