Review: Tanabe Medalion Touring for Protege5

WOW! on price. I really like this axleback, but I could get a catback for that price. But I suppose this is for someone who wants just an axleback but a better than average one. I have the mazdaspeed axleback. I am really liking it since I have had a stock exhaust for so long but now the highway drone is getting to me, plus I have a kid on the way so might want to quiet it down a bit.

I have the super medalion and love it, I was looking into the Touring Medalion just yesterday and the Keystone catalogue claims it's a catback. I don't need another cat-back I am glad to see yours was axle back (unless the shop kept the rest(hand) )

Well I sold my Hyper Medalion and ordered a Medalion touring from JazzProParts.com
That was March 27th and still nothing, I can't even get an answer on the phone or emails.

does a catback system getbetter gains than an axleback?

even a catback wont have much gains, you need to remove both cats, and have a straight 2.5" pipe from 4-2-1 headers to notice anything, and even then, its only gonna be like 20hp at the most. for some reason our 2.0 engines are gutless,

20HP is dreaming, 2.5" back may give you 5HP peak somewhere but overall likely no gain. You need some back pressure, I put my stock muffler back on waiting for my Tanabe and it feels better. I have header and 1 high flow cat.

Not sure how restrictive people think factory exhausts are but 20HP is like 14% gain.
