Review ETS, Turbosmart and CS inserts

I'm currently only running a MS intake.

ETS 3.5 TMIC:
Install went fairly easy and i'm very noobish. Took about an hour cause one of the bolts wouldn't line up exact causing the bolt to go in crooked. So we had to drill out the hole a tad(teeny tiny tad). Made a lil difference on the butt dyno, but not as crazy as most people make it seem. Boost increased about .5 - 1psi. Not a rushworthy mod if you ask me, but does make a lil difference. Bought it used for a decent price so screw it. It'll be great during the summer. The banging against the plastic between hard 1st and 2nd shifts aren't fun and kinda irritated me. I'm chopping that extra piece off tomorrow. Overall: not worth the rush and money on a lightly modded speed.

Turbosmart Dual Port Hybrid BOV/BPV:
3 words.... Money, loud and tune?? Seriously how do you tune this thing? I'm a nub, so if anyone can suggest hard/soft settings i would greatly appreciate it. Anyway, this thing is made very well and seems like a well built piece. Caused a lil sputtering, but i can't really say much cause i never had the time to tune it. Ran it on full recirc and had no probs. 50/50 is loud as hell!! Sounds nice, but ricey...WOOOOSH! I never ran it full VTA cause 50/50 for these cars seemed bad enough from what ive read. Overall: Great piece if you have money to burn. I could have paid half the price and got a forge and cs mid-pipe for the same price. Buy it used for less.

CS inserts:
This is by far one of the easiest mods i have ever done. Thanks for posting the 3 bolt tip guys..made all the difference in the world and only took about 20min(80% of that being prepping the car). Car felt great. The speed should have felt this way off the lot. I gotta say that this is the best $40 spent for the difference it made, but i would've actually paid more to go TRZ poly. People said the CS inserts caused minor vibes which is why i went CS instead of TRZ poly(very picky about daily driven comfort). If this is considered minor then i should have went TRZ. Overall:Best bang for the buck award(headbang) Vibes...none.

I still have TWM shifter bushing to install. Please feel free to comment or inform me on how to use the bov/bpv. Hope this review was helpful to some.

I think they recommend twisted the BOV so there's a 1/4" gap (see instructions). I started from there....that setting will probably work fine. Did you get it used or something nad have no instructions? they're online @ the SU forums I think

One thing to visually check is make sure the piston is shut when at idle. If it's tuned right it will blow off 'crisply'. If ifs too hard to will "flutter". Mine fluttered at low rpms under high load no matter what, but I guess thats not a big deal. it's better to be a little 'soft' than hard. And by that I mean if its too hard you could damage the turbo over time...if its a little soft it just wont vent quite a nice/crisp and you could loose some boost I guess?

Thanks, man...that's actually pretty helpful to know. i'll check it out once i return to 50/50.

wow: haha, like how i double posted right when you replied.

about an hour after that post i made I figured it meant corksport, then was like inserts for what... so I went to thier homepage, and found the motor mount inserts.. anybody have em? any good?

works pretty good, small vibration well worth the 35 dollers engine dosn't move around during wot as much.

I personally don't even think it's worth mentioning "vibrations". Maybe it's cause of the recent heat, but being as picky as i am with comfort...no vibes for me. Love the improvement.

vibs at start up and when you try and pull away slowly, but can be fixed with more throtle input.
