Returning my MSP?

For $200, he will fix the roof of the car. For another $200, he'll fix the dent in the hood. He cannot/will not fix the dent in the pillar due to the strength/reinforcement. Granted I've only talked to one guy for those prices, but it's still more than I can afford right now without a job.

Regardless of milage andproblems if a lemon the car has to be brought back. My friend with a Saturn just got his rebught by GM and they even payed for the wheels, he had over 20,000 miles on it.

get rid of it....one way or the other....say good bye to it.

No one should go through all that within the 1st yr.

Do a search on the web for lemon law lawyers. Thety will do all the paperwork, and NOT charge YOU. The MFR or DEALER has top pay the firms fees, for selling a POS

Live and learn...

Never buy the first model year of a car.

Granted the MSP is a special edition and there won't be another year...However...if the car was extremely successful, they would continue making them so they could make more money off it.

I don't really agree with this logic in the case of the MSP. It's a tried and tested 2.0 protege engine, with a suspension set up similar to the MP3. If the 2nd year build logic applied to our car then we wouldn't have the clunk, but we do, and even though it's the second Racing Beat sway bar/bushings clunk we still have no manufacturer solution. Most companies just weigh out how fixing the problem versus letting it remain will affect their P&L's. The clunk obviously wasn't enough of a consideration to remove from the MSP. The hesitation/stumble issue is no question a result of a first year car but even if they did release a 2nd year model I am unsure if they would fix it first.

Although most of us have the hesitation T3ase has put up with an extreme number of problems that can come from just about any Lemon type car in a batch of production vehicles. You got screwed T3ase! I have the hesitation and the occasional clunk and that's it. Your laundry list is unnacceptable and the car is a freaking lemon. Be rid of it and soon! No car should be a source of problems for the buyer off the dealer's lot.

I'm with you:mad:
1. hesitation, stumble, stalling- too rich
2. clunk (since day 1)
3. broken IC pipe or BPV
4. turbo made the horrible screaching noise just yesterday
5. coolant leak
6. stinks after you drive it (even still with 10,500 miles)
7. runs way to hot for NM (my hoses are baked and brittle)
8. dipstick reads totally wrong for some reason
9. blown sub and mid
10. deck got stuck for a day once

I have the evo hood, fmic, 3"turbo back coming next week and if that doesn't help with the engine running so hot I think I might sell it. I still have yet to see another msp in NM so I hope I can find someone willing to pay. No mazdaspeed dealers here

If you sell it, let me know what you'd take for the EVO hood. I'll pay more for it that you'll get from a dealership/private buyer. Plus I need a new hood due to the accident.

you got it!

It looks as though I'm going to keep the car.. I can't force myself to get rid of it.. I'm just going to send several letters to Mazda copying the BBB and Texas Attny General's office so if later on during the life of the car something happens, I can always say "here, look"

i feel for ya t3ase..i have had my car at the dealer at least 8 or 9 times...twice for engine replacements which they still cant figure out why engines keep doing whut they do in my car and then its been in their at least 4 times for the ac...whether its a leak here or idiots dont know how to unbolt stuff and take it all out while they are fixing other things...or some cap blowin off...just sux for me cause everything started happening at like after 25000 miles on the car...so im screwed on lemon law at all...but i love my 01 mp3 to much to get rid of it...i like to beat ppl in the windy roads around here when they think they can just fly by me

Exactly... As a track from the Coolio CD I was just listening to, "Ya know what? As much as I hate this mother f###er; I love this mother f###er."

Although I'm not living in the ghetto, that's exactly how I feel about this car...

EXACTLY how I feel too even though my car hasn't had NEARLY as many problems as yours!! Very frustrating.

Just get them to buy back the car, its not worth this BS man. I can only imagine how uch work time you lost becuase of the car.
I'd say get them to take it back or give you a p5 and some cash then add a turbo and call it a day :D
