Returned Black Mica for a Liquid Platinum

MZSPD6 Platinum Silver
The second day i had the Black one I was putting in the booster seats, I backed it out of the garage for more room to move around and notice some speckles on the roof. At first I thought they were water spots that dried since it was a black car. I tried to rub them off and nothing happened, I took a closer look and they were holes in the paint. I looked all over the car and there must of been 30-40 little holes some down to the metal.

Anyway i was obviously pissed and went straight back to the dealership. They were pretty good about it but I told them I hope they didn't sell me the car knowing this. I thought it may have been hail damage but there were no dents, the sales manager seemed to know right away that it was acid rain. He first proposed to paint the car fully guaranteed, I laughed sarcastically and said, "Would you want a brand new car you just bought painted?" So he offered me the only 2 left on the lot. I took a look at the red mica one but it also had acid rain damage, not as noticeable though. I went inside the show room and took a look at the liquid platinum and it was spotless.

At first i was a little disappointed because the black one looked sharp and they had just got it tinted for me too. After having the liquid platinum for a few days I think I ended up with the better colour other than the obvious reaseon, it has a unique bluish/purple hue when looking at different angles or how the light is shining on it. It will also be less of a pain to keep looking clean. They are going to tint this car for me also and this time I'm going with a chrome tint.

I just wanted to share my story, and after all that I'm really loving this car. Hopefully, I can attend some meets in the spring or summer. If the one in Chicago happens I would definitely try to make it a family outing. Any other fellow Canucks out there or Michiganders want to organize a meet just to shoot the s**t give me a shout. I haven't done much car meets since i had my 2G Talon TS IAWD.

Happy New Year!

Wow, the dealer really did the right thing here, I'm pretty impressed.

Would this have been your first black car? I owned (well, still own) a black car...and I will never own another. Every single imperfection sticks out like a sore thumb. Black looks great when it is new...absolutely gorgeous....but it's impossible to keep it looking that good for a long time.

Silver is very easy to take care of :)

Good luck with the MS3!

Yes they were very accommodating. I'm looking forward to the first wash for the Liquid Platinum. I had a black minivan and know what you mean about trying to keep it clean and the imperfections. Probably a typo on the MS3 but I have an MS6.

thanks!
